Johnny Rhodes - President & CEO

Johnny IV Rhodes, Jr. is a Washington, D.C. native who founded Rhodes Construction in 2003. After purchasing and remodeling his first home, he realized there was a need for construction companies that could consistently provide high-quality work, environmentally conscious materials, and on-time delivery. With that in mind, Johnny leads a team of skilled professionals with extensive industry experience in construction and expertise in real-estate development who have gained a reputation for their outstanding level of service. Johnny’s strategic vision has been key to the company’s growth and expansion. Under his leadership the company has worked on many high-profile government projects and acquired and re-developed properties all over DC. He differentiates his company from others by maintaining a diverse service portfolio and enabling his team to develop comprehensive solutions in response to unique customer requirements.

Johnny’s roots run deep in the DMV metropolitan area. He attended Dunbar High School in Washington, D.C. where he was a standout basketball player and was named All-Met Player of the Year. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the University of Maryland (UMD) where he continued his extraordinary basketball career as a Division I four-year starter who helped lead the Terrapins to three straight appearances in the NCAA Tournament, two of which were to the Sweet 16. During his time at UMD he was selected for All-ACC Honors and to this day he still holds ACC records for steals per game and per season. Johnny is the only player in ACC history to score over 1,700 points (1,743) with over 700 rebounds (704), 400 assists (437) and 300 steals (344). In 2012 Johnny was named to the 2012 class of ACC Men's Basketball Tournament Legends and was honored by UMD by having his jersey hung in the rafters at UMD’s XFINITY Center. After leaving UMD Johnny continued his remarkable basketball career, playing professionally for multiple international teams as well as the world renowned Harlem Globetrotters.

Johnny firmly believes in giving back to the community he grew up in and supported him. He started the Johnny Rhodes Foundation which provides mentoring and enrichment programs to underserved youth in the Washington metropolitan area through academic and athletic activities.
